CITY CENTRE GELEEN

The city center of Geleen has been renewed completely. Geleen used to be a popular city for shopping purposes, modern and easily accessible. Unfortunately, this function has degraded. The center lost its attractive force. The urban restructuring and redesign have reversed this process.

The concrete paving of this new center consists of five shades of grey. This gradation in paving material, determines the image of the center in a light-hearted way.

The paving stones that were laid, were produced using liquid pigment HS16013F. This mixture of black and soot is applied frequently to be able to realize various shades of grey, as manufacturer Bleijko BV did as well.
